Hambela Natural

This exquisite coffee was grown and developed by Metad Agricultural Development, a family-owned company that manages the Hambela Estate. Mitad has a rich legacy dating back to World War II, when the Ethiopian Emperor granted land in the Harar and Sidamo regions of Africa to Mrs. Mulumbet Ameru, the first African female pilot, which is now known as Hambela.

Metad empowers the local community by providing employment opportunities, with 70% of its staff being women. It also contributes to educational and healthcare opportunities.

Our suppliers work with local farmers using modern agricultural techniques, and they own the first SCA-certified quality control laboratory in Africa, which provides training to local and international coffee professionals.
